During the ”Night of the Animals”, or rather the evening from 5:30 to 7 pm, Hertonäs Manor Museum wanted to attract local visitors to the are of the museum, but see that safety went first with distancing etc. The event was a part of the European Cultural Heritage Days’ program (#EHDs).
Knusbacka farmstead was open for free and attracted around 30 visitors. Our beekeeper Art Maloku presented the bees in English. Soon we will launch our own honey – more about this later on! On the yeard next to the main buildning Tarinalyhty’s artists (Herttoniemenrannan taiteilijat) held a small workshop with shadox pictures. All visitors got their own pen and paper to work with and take home. Many funny shadow pictures were made. The main buildning was also open for a few interested visitors.
In this evening we also launched our first eMuseo path, click here to check it out! Our first path is about animals and Heronäs Manor with eleven stations. eMuseo is a practical plattform since you do not have to login somewhere, nor create a password or something – neither download an app. The data is avaliable directly online and you can reach it with yoru smartphone – or check it out at home with your computer. The eMuseo paths allow u sto move around outdoors with the maps added. Some of the visitors mentioned that they had tried it. The eMuseo is avaliable to us by Kotiseutuliitto. Welcome to test eMuseo and you are welcome to send us feedback!
The museum is open tomorrow, Sunday 23rd Aug. from noon to 2 pm, guided tour from 2-3 pm (entrance fee 7 / euros). Together with Herttoniemen seurakunta parish we organize an openair service (liturgy: Outi Lantto) on Sunday at Knusbacka farmstead from 3-4 pm (free entrance to the service). Welcome!
